Data Conversion Laboratory Structures Journal, Book, News, and Point-of-Care Content for the American Academy of Pediatrics
Updating Content Structure to Improve Discoverability and Performance of Pediatric Clinical Medicine Information
Fresh Meadows, NY, April 27, 2021 – Data Conversion Laboratory (DCL), an industry leader in structured data and content transformations, today announces it will structure the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)’s journal, book, news, and point-of-care content for migration to the Silverchair Platform. The AAP is the leading publisher of professional, research, and clinical resources for pediatricians and child health professionals.
Transitioning vast amounts of content from one platform to another requires deep understanding of legacy content as well as the target format required for the new platform (i.e., Silverchair). DCL has worked with Silverchair customers since 2004 to ensure content is optimized and properly structured for the platform. Prior to any migration, DCL performs an analysis and inventory of AAP’s legacy content via DCL’s Content Clarity service.
“Publishers like AAP have a rich history of content that share variances in its content structure due to time and previous platform requirements,” explains Mark Gross, President at DCL. “We work side by side with the publisher and Silverchair to normalize, update, and improve content performance and discoverability.”
“Platform migration can be a daunting task for publishers, particularly ones like us with a mix of journals, book, news, and clinical content that date back as much as 91 years,” said Mary Lou White, Chief Product and Services Officer at AAP. “We are keenly aware of the need for a content partner who has expertise in analyzing and updating content structure for peak performance with the latest technology on the most innovative delivery platforms.”
DCL is a trusted resource to the scholarly publishing industry and provides a range of digital transformation and content structure services. With the latest advances in artificial intelligence and natural language processing, DCL’s services improve content discovery and interoperability.
