Automated High-Volume Document Processing System Now Available From Data Conversion Laboratory
CUSTOMIZABLE SYSTEM CONVERTS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PAGES PER DAY WITH NO HUMAN INTERVENTION
New York, NY - October 15, 2013 - Data Conversion Laboratory (DCL), the industry leader in digitizing, converting, and reorganizing content to facilitate universal access and expand revenue streams, announces availability of its Automated Document Processing (DCL-ADP) system. DCL now offers a fully automated solution to support the challenges organizations face when critical business data is buried in unusable and unsearchable documents.
In operation since early this year, DCL’s Automated Document Processing system incorporates decades of conversion expertise, with innovative technology, to deliver high-quality converted documents and metadata. Processing hundreds of thousands of pages per day, and operating 24/7 without human intervention, the system is ideal for organizations such as financial groups, government agencies and medical institutions, needing to process high volumes of documents, and accurately extract information.
The Automated Document Processing system was created in response to a persistent cross-industry challenge: the lack of ability to search large document collections for needed content. Many organizations store large numbers of applications, records and other documents as images, which makes them difficult to index and reuse. DCL’s technology transforms documents of varying degrees of visual quality into searchable XML which can be stored, searched, and accessed via end-user systems such as content management.
“While modern OCR (optical character recognition) tools do a great job on most clean content, they get fooled by the non-textual content of complex documents, and accuracy degrades. Our new process overcomes this degradation with methods that automatically extract extraneous content, reinserting it later into the converted document.” said Mark Gross, President, DCL. “The result is to render previously inaccessible data usable, on a large scale, with greatly reduced human effort, and at a fraction of the cost. Customizable to fit the specific requirements of each client, this system is revolutionary in its ability to manage the conversion of millions of pages in a 100% lights-out environment at such a surprisingly high accuracy rate.”
